  Your Wedding Album24 Jun 2009

One of the most common questions clients ask is “What will happen after our wedding? “.

You’ll get the proofs within 2 weeks after the wedding. Around that time, you’ll also get the Artist’s Choice album

I’ll work on designing your album which will be available 2-4 months after the wedding. From there, I’ll be needing your approval if I can go ahead with the production of the album. The production takes about 5 weeks.

I had a promo last 2006 of giving a mini album (album replica) if you approved the design within a month. So far, I’m still giving away the mini album under that condition.

I don’t really have specifics regarding the warranty of the album. So far from my nine years in service, I have no more than 10 cases where the album got damaged. Should that happen to you, please let me know. I’ll be happy to do something about it. It is my intention for you to enjoy your album in your lifetime.

I’m using Kodak paper in all of my albums and according to Kodak, their paper will last for 50 years. I’m sorry I haven’t proven that. :)

I am open also for unique ideas regarding your album. Those listed in my package are standard sizes, which I think is the best. But I have a bride who requested for 11X48in with 50 pages on it. Imagine 4 people seating side by side viewing the album. That how wide it is and it came out very nice.

I’m always open to ideas. :)

  Wedding Timeline10 Jun 2009

It’s common joke that you really don’t know what will happen on your wedding day because it’s your first time to get married. But it’s really true that there are so many details the couple fails to see that tend to be the cause of delay.

I tried to pick up some shots from my wedding last Sunday to show you how it goes. It was a Chinese wedding and it is normally longer than usual Filipino weddings.

We arrived at 10am and my bride has just started her make-up. We were early but we normally arrive after the make up is done. All we need to shoot is the retouch.

We started shooting groom’s prep around 12:20PM. In between 10am and 12PM, we were shooting the details like rings, invitation, etc. I was already done with bride’s pre-gown portraits.

At the same time we are also shooting the groom, the bride is in the process of dressing up. I can’t figure out the difference why some brides take about 5 minutes to dress-up while some take up about 1 hour. You have to know this because this is one popular cause for delay.

The target departure was 1:15 but we left around 1:17pm. So we’re still on time. The ceremony  is at 2pm and we came from Sofitel which is about 15-20minutes drive on a Sunday. I don’t suggest Police escorts because it’s hard for us to catch up with the bridal car. It’s very rare that those escorts care for other cars, mostly they just guide the bridal car.

This was the final prep just before the bride enters the church. It was timed at 1:59pm. The mass is about 1 hour plus group portraits for 20minutes.2472

At 3:25pm, we were all outside. Expect another 15-30 minutes of greetings outside the church. Sometimes, it takes 15 minutes for the couple to reach the door coming from the altar and that’s all because of the greetings.

The pictorial depends a lot on what time you wish to start the reception. All we need is 15 minutes. 30 minutes is ideal and but more than 1 hour is too long already.

Finding a location consumes a little bit of time. But for me, it’s all part of the pictorial.

Waiting for sunset or catching the sunset is one of the challenges in pictorials. You really need to adjust to it if you really want a sunset shot. Usually, it’s all worth it. :)

For Chinese receptions with at least 600 guests, the earliest time I can remember is around 7:45pm. It can be as late at 8:30-8:45pm even coming from a 2pm or 3pm ceremony. It just the way it is. For Filipino weddings, it’s about 1-1.5 hours after the exit from church.

Depending on your reception program, it could last from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours. More than 2.5 hours will get your guests very bored and likely to leave even before the reception ends. In the province, you have to finish the program before they finish eating or they will leave already. I don’t know why, but it’s always the case.

We are still there to document the greetings and some souvenir pics with guests.

Having a band keeps the guests from leaving. This is the part where most people are relaxed and really enjoying the party. Normally, it’s an hour after the reception but some parties last for 3-4 hours.

Bottom line is you have to simulate your day. Most coordinators can help you on this. But don’t worry too much because it is those unplanned things that really keep your wedding day more memorable. :)

  Another FAQ30 Jun 2006

Q: What if it rains?

A: Let’s bring some umbrellas.

Q: Why?

A: So we don’t get wet.

Q: Any particular umbrella?

A: Any color will do. But avoid those giveaway umbrellas.

Q: Can we play with the rain?

A: Yes, by all means. But don’t get our cameras wet. We will play with you but with an umbrella.

Q: How about our make-up?

A: The make-up artist can answer that. In my experience, you can’t easily remove make-up with water.

The conversation can go on and on but the point is, rain doesn’t really matter.

You use umbrella not to get wet. Right?

This is a good way to test your make-up.

Do you do video?22 Jun 2006

No.  At least, not in the near future.

This is still the most frequently asked question.

Why not?

I also ask myself that question.  I’m a lover of video and movies.  I once was a classic movie addict renting all the 1930s to 1960s movies in Betamax.  I have a huge collection of DVDs ranging from comedy, documentary, action, classic, etc.

I’ve been following all the moves of Jason Magbanua and I know I’m capable of delivering very good wedding videos.  But still, NO, not this time.

I got my three hands full of what I’m doing right now already.  My fourth hand is also tied up with my laptop, very busy blogging.

For now, get either Jason or Threelogy.  They are the best in the industry.

Wedding videos have never been as creative as today.  I’m always surprised of what people can do with videos.

Watch this.

Sunday Bloody Sunday is one of my favorite U2 songs and now sung by no less than…
I can’t believe the news today
Oh, I can’t close my eyes
And make it go away!

How long?
How long must we sing this song?
How long?? How long??

‘Cause tonight, we can be as one

Broken bottles under children’s feet
Bodies strewn across the dead end street!
But I won’t heed the battle call
It puts my back up
Puts my back up against the wall!

Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday (Bloody Sunday)

All right let’s go !

And the battle’s just begun
There’s many lost, but tell me who has won?
The trench is dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters
Torn apart!

Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday

How long?
How long must we sing this song?
How long?? How looong??

‘Cause tonight, we can be as one
Toniight, tonight

Sunday, Bloody Sunday (tonight)
(tonight)Sunday, Bloody Sunday(tonight)

(let’s go!)

Wipe the tears from your eyes
Wipe your tears away
Oh, wipe your tears away
Oh, wipe your tears away
…Sunday, Bloody Sunday…
Oh, wipe your blood shot eyes
…Sunday, Bloody Sunday…
Sunday, Bloody Sunday -Sunday, Bloody Sunday… Ah..
Sunday, Bloody Sunday -Sunday, Bloody Sunday… Ah..

And it’s true we are immune
When fact is fiction and TV reality!
And today the millions cry
We eat and drink while tomorrow they die!

(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
The real battle yet begun(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
To claim the victory Jesus won(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
…Sunday, Bloody Sonday… Sunday, Bloody Sunday…
